Vallo Backyard BBQ Fundraiser
Saturday, April 8, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Island Street
The spring 2023 Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Class
is hosting its first Vallo Backyard BBQ fundraiser. The Vallo Backyard BBQ is
designed to be a fun, competitive, family event to help support and raise awareness
and funds for the Boys and Girls Club of Shelby County. To find out more about
the mission of Boys and Girls Club, you can visit their website. The
festival is open to the public. BBQ tasting will begin at 2 p.m. The awards and
recognition ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m.
The festival includes activities such as a rock wall*, bungee
jumping*, a bouncy house, other games, a competitive relay race, a raffle* and
our headline event: the BBQ competition. Visitors to the festival will be able
to participate in activities and taste BBQ from all competing teams and then
help determine winners through a popular vote.
