Montevallo Fire and Rescue Service is excited to announce the 51st annual Fire Prevention Parade on Saturday, October 4, 2025! The parade will start at 10 AM and proceed down Main Street. Fun will continue in Orr Park immediately after the parade. Any Public Safety Agencies wishing to participate please fill out the form linked below. Republic Services | Labor Day Schedule

NOTICE: Republic Services will be closed on Monday, September 1st, 2025 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. They will run one day behind next week. They will service Fridays routes on Saturday.

City of Montevallo Unofficial Election Results

Polling is open for all Montevallo registered voters at the Boys and Girls Club, 420 Vine St., Montevallo, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. today.

The City of Montevallo will post unofficial election results on Tuesday evening, August 26, 2025, as soon as the results are tabulated by City Clerk/Treasurer, Steve Gilbert. We anticipate the results to be posted between 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. this evening.


Please note that election night results are considered unofficial until the canvassing meeting of the Montevallo City Council on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.

Montevallo Candidate Forum

The Shelby County Reporter in partnership with the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce and the The Shelby County Chamber will host an Election Forum for the Montevallo candidates. The forum will feature contested mayoral seats in addition to contested city council seats. The forum will start at 6:30 PM. The Montevallo Forum will be held on Tuesday, August 5th at the Parnell Memorial Library, 277 Park Drive.

The Montevallo Junior City Council invites everyone to attend the Candidate Forum on Tuesday, July 29th at 6:00 PM at the Montevallo High School Performing Arts Center (PAC), 980 Oak Street, Montevallo. Input was received from the community regarding the questions being asked to candidates.  All Council and Mayoral candidates have been invited to participate. Support your community and your youth by attending this important event.

The City of Montevallo will be participating in FREE DUMP DAY! Bring your items to the Recycling Center, 1120 Overland Road between the hours of 7:00AM - 1:30PM and the Public Works Department will take them to the Shelby County Alabama Landfill for you at no charge. Gather those items you've been meaning to get rid off around the house and take them to the Recycling Center this coming Saturday!
