Friday Nights at the Cove Kick-Off Event!

Friday Nights at the Cove Kick-Off Event will be held on Friday, April 26th beginning at 6:30 PM!

Join us in beautiful downtown Montevallo for an evening of live entertainment! Each event will feature a different musician at Owl's Cove Park (737 Main Street). This family-friendly, free admission event is the perfect way to kick off your weekend. Bring a chair or picnic blanket, grab dinner to-go from your favorite downtown restaurant, and make yourself at home on Main Street! Live music starts at 6:30 PM.

April 26: Mother May I is a precise-sounding musical group playing their mix of Motown, R&B, Classic Rock, 80’s Retro, Old School Funk, current Top 40, and everything in-between. This Birmingham-based band performs with a flair, intensity and stage presence that is all their own! Sponsored by Dr. Bobby F. Shunnarah.

Montevallo FREE Dump Day - SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, March 30, 2024!

The City of Montevallo will be participating in Shelby County Alabama's FREE Landfill Day for residents. Bring trash to Montevallo’s Recycling Center (1120 Overland Rd) from 7am to 1:30pm.

***NOTE*** Have items to the Recycling Center by 1:30PM so they can get to the Landfill on TIME!***

You may take your items directly to the Shelby County Landfill. The Shelby County Highway 70 Landfill is located at 401 Landfill Road, just off Highway 70 between Columbiana and Calera. We cannot accept Hazardous waste, tires, batteries, or liquids of any type.

Presidents' Day Holiday

City Hall will be closed on Monday, February 19th, in observance of Presidents' Day.


The Recycling Center will be closed on Saturday, February 17th, and Monday, February 19th. 

New Restrooms in Orr Park

New Restrooms in Orr Park made possible by Shelby County Alabama Parks & Recreation Grant and Montevallo Development Cooperative District (MDCD) Funding.

Crews will begin demolition of the restroom building in Orr Park later this week. This will affect the walking track in the area of the large pavilion. -- Sections of the walking path will temporarily be closed to complete this work. Construction of a new restroom facility will begin soon. Thanks for your patience during this process.

Shelby County Free Dump Day Saturday, October 7th, 2023

SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, October 7, 2023! The City of Montevallo will be participating in Shelby County Alabama's FREE Landfill Day for residents.
