Republic Services NOTICE for Thanksgiving: Closed on November 28th in observance of Thanksgiving. We will run a regular route Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of that week. We will be closed on Thursday. We will service Thursdays routes on Friday and Fridays routes on Saturday.

2nd Annual Dia de los Muertos Festival
2nd Annual Dia de los Muertos Festival, 620 Valley Street, 11/02/2024, 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Prizes will be awarded to the Best Dressed Catrin or Catrina adult and children’s categories, the best altar. Registration for Best Dressed Catrin or Catrina will be held from 2 PM – 5:30 PM, with contestants parading at 5:45 PM. Winners will be announced at 6:30 PM.

The public is invited out for - MONTEVALLO HOMETOWN HALLOWEEN - to "Trick or Treat" Downtown Montevallo from City Hall to Luma Dentistry on both sides of the street between the hours of 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct 31st. Business owners, community groups and college students will be on hand to give out candy and other goodies to costumed carousers.

5th Annual Chief's Challenge - Theron Fischer Stadium
Tuesday, October 29, 2024 - 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Join us for the 5th Annual Chief's Challenge on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. during Red Ribbon Week. Last year, we witnessed an incredible turnout and fierce competition. The event showcases our first responders and the physical standards they must meet when competing against local youth organizations. This year's event is a 6-person relay team challenge. The public is invited to attend and cheer on their favorite group!

Montevallo's National Night Out
The National Night Out event in Montevallo will be held at Orr Park/ Pecan Grove on October 22nd from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Last year's event was a great success, with a variety of community resources and a new attendance record.
Our National Night Out event celebrates the strength and unity of our community. With the generous support of our event sponsors, we are ready to host another free, family-friendly event.

Montevallo's FREE Dump Day - SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, October 5, 2024!
The City of Montevallo will be participating in Shelby County's FREE Landfill Day for residents. Bring items to Montevallo’s Recycling Center (1120 Overland Rd) from 7am to 1:30pm.
***NOTE*** Have items to the Recycling Center by 1:30PM so item can be transported to the Shelby County Landfill on TIME!***
You may take your items directly to the Shelby County Landfill. The Shelby County Landfill is located at 401 Landfill Road, just off Highway 70 between Columbiana and Calera. We cannot accept Hazardous waste, tires, batteries, or liquids of any type.

Montevallo Fire and Rescue's 50th Annual Prevention Parade
Montevallo Fire and Rescue would like to invite you and your family to our 50th Annual Fire Prevention Parade. The parade will be held on Saturday October 5th at 10am starting from Island Street and Main Street going toward Shelby Street.
Immediately following the parade on Main Street you are encouraged to join us in Orr Park. There will be events for the kids and vendors. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there this year.

New Restrooms in Orr Park
New Restrooms in Orr Park made possible by Shelby County Alabama Parks & Recreation Grant and Montevallo Development Cooperative District (MDCD) Funding.
Crews will begin demolition of the restroom building in Orr Park later this week. This will affect the walking track in the area of the large pavilion. -- Sections of the walking path will temporarily be closed to complete this work. Construction of a new restroom facility will begin soon. Thanks for your patience during this process.
